I'm trying to transfer a domain that is registered with another registrar to Amazon Route 53. I didn't receive a transfer authorization email. Why didn't I receive the email, and how do I get a transfer authorization email?

You can have a transfer authorization email sent to you again, but before that, make sure that the following things are true:

  • The registrar that is currently managing your domain has your correct contact information. If the email address is outdated or incorrect, you won't be able to receive the transfer authorization email.
  • The "privacy protection" feature for your domain has been disabled with your current registrar.

For more information about transferring domains, see Transferring Registration for a Domain to Amazon Route 53.

To have a domain transfer authorization email resent:

  1. Open the Amazon Route 53 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/route53/home.
  2. In the navigation pane, under Domains, choose Pending requests.
  3. Select the domain you want to transfer and choose Resend email.
