I'd like to get a better sense of how I'm utilizing my Reserved Instances—is there a report that can help with that?

Each Reserved Instance (RI) has its own region, Availability Zone, instance type, tenancy, offering type, and platform. You get the best value when you use instances that match the terms of your active RIs, and when you have enough active RIs to cover all the instance-hours used by their corresponding instances.

The AWS Cost Explorer dashboard offers a pre-configured Daily RI Utilization chart can help you get a better sense of the use you're making of your Amazon EC2 Reserved Instances. For more information about the pre-configured RI report, see Daily RI Utilization.

You can also use the Reserved Instance utilization report in the Amazon EC2 console. For more detailed information, see Reserved Instance Utilization Reports.
