Usage Instructions

Components were installed from standard Ubuntu repositories and reside in the standard locations. Configuration files will be found in the /etc directory.

After launch, a sample application will be running on port 80 at http://<machine_ip>/dbtest.php. This application checks provides a status of the web server, php code, and database connection. The pages are protected with basic authentication (user: admin, pass: admin).
SSH to the instance using your Keypair and login 'ubuntu' to remove or update basic authentication in the /var/www/.htaccess and /var/www/.password files.

Logs are located in /var/log/apache2.

PHP code is served by default from /var/www. To deploy new code, drop the code into the /var/www directory. It should be immediately served by PHP.

The server exposes a test page at /test.php that shows version information. To improve security, remove this page from /var/www.

IPtables has been updated to only allow incoming connections on ports 80 (HTTP), 443 (HTTPS), and 22 (SSH). If you need access through other ports, update or remove iptable rules.
