Usage Instructions

Components were installed from standard Ubuntu repositories and reside in the standard locations except for Node.js which was built and delivered by OpenLogic. Configuration files will be found in the /etc directory.

After launch, a sample application will be running on port 80 at http://<machine_ip>/. This application shows a very basic usage of Node.js using Express, Jade, Stylus, and MySQL.

The node sample application is located in /var/www. To deploy new code, SSH to the instance using your Keypair and login 'ubuntu' and either replace the sample app file or updated the start script in /etc/init.d to launch a different node app and restart.

IPtables has been updated to only allow incoming connections on ports 80 (HTTP), 443 (HTTPS), and 22 (SSH). If you need access through other ports, update or remove iptable rules.
