ScaleOut StateServer

ScaleOut StateServer is an in-memory data grid, sometimes called a distributed cache. It runs as a distributed software service on a set of dedicated virtual servers to store data objects in memory and make them globally accessible to networked web or application servers. Stored objects can be accessed from any client connected to the in-memory data grid, and the grid enables simultaneous access by different clients to data objects stored on different grid servers. Once provisioned, ScaleOut StateServer automatically balances the amount of storage used by each server in the grid to scale throughput ...  Read more

Product Description

ScaleOut StateServer is an in-memory data grid, sometimes called a distributed cache. It runs as a distributed software service on a set of dedicated virtual servers to store data objects in memory and make them globally accessible to networked web or application servers. Stored objects can be accessed from any client connected to the in-memory data grid, and the grid enables simultaneous access by different clients to data objects stored on different grid servers. Once provisioned, ScaleOut StateServer automatically balances the amount of storage used by each server in the grid to scale throughput and maintain fast response times. As new servers running ScaleOut StateServer are provisioned, they automatically expand storage capacity and performance. High availability is built into every feature of ScaleOut StateServer making it the perfect choice for mission-critical applications. A comprehensive set of Java, C/C++, .NET, and REST APIs enable applications to directly access the data grid and perform a wide variety of operations, such as querying objects by their properties and handling asynchronous events. Instances include Standard Support for ScaleOut StateServer. Premium support packages are available directly from ScaleOut Software. NOTE: At this time, this product instance must be launched using the "Launch with EC2 Console"option.

When you launch an instance, the instance type that you specify determines the hardware of the host computer used for your instance. Each instance type offers different compute, memory, and storage capabilities. Select an instance type based on the requirements of the application or software that you plan to run on your instance. Please visit the Instance Types documentation for more details.
EBS Magnetic volumes
You are charged once a month for both the space and performance that you reserve. Please visit the EBS pricing for more details.

On-Demand Instances let you pay for compute capacity by the hour with no long-term commitments. This frees you from the costs and complexities of planning, purchasing, and maintaining hardware and transforms what are commonly large fixed costs into much smaller variable costs.
