Usage Instructions

Once you boot up the instance, all applications are immediately accessible via your browser at http://<instance ip address>/. Moodle configuration can be configured by editing the configuration file at /usr/share/config.php. In that file, you can edit the default host and path. This may need to be configured once your IP address or host name is set up.

Moodle

You can then access moodle at:
http://<instance ip address>/
username: admin
password: admin

If you experience any issues, log in via SSH and set the hostname for Moodle to function:
ssh -i <your private key file> ubuntu@<instance ip or hostname>
sudo nano /etc/moodle/config.php

Change wwwroot from '' to your Host name or IP address. For example:
'http://ec2-184-72-74-179.compute-1.amazonaws.com'

Webmin:

**IMPORTANT**
You need to create a sudo user to login to webmin, log in via SSH, and run the following commands:

sudo useradd administrator
sudo passwd administrator
create a password...

PHPMyAdmin:
http://<instance ip address>/phpmyadmin
(replace the <instance ip address> with the actual ip address of the running EC2 instance).
username: root
password: pa55word

**IMPORTANT**
For security reasons, you should change all passwords immediately upon instance activation.
For MySQL / PHPMyAdmin Passwords

With webmin, you can set up FTP access however you like by installing proFTPD Server via modules, or just simple ssh or sFTP into the server with your key and upload your web files to /var/www/ directory. Apache2 is configurable via /etc/apache2 directory.
