Amazon Linux is the OS designed for EC2 and McAfee VirusScan for Linux is award-winning anti-malware product for Linux systems. These great technologies are now combined as a single package for EC2 users. Use this operating system to help stay safe from the growing threats and malware that are targeting Linux systems.

Amazon Linux is a supported and maintained Linux image provided by Amazon Web Services for use on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). It is designed to provide a stable, high performance execution environment for applications running on Amazon EC2.

McAfee VirusScan for Linux delivers always-on, real-time anti-malware protection for Linux instances. Its unique Linux-based on-access scanner constantly monitors the system for potential attacks. Regular automatic update from McAfee Labs protects your instance from the latest threats. This product is packaged with Amazon Linux to create the McAfee Secure Amazon Linux operating system. VirusScan is installed and configured to run out of the box, without the need for any additional configuration. Advanced users can choose to customize configuration using an intuitive interface.
