Usage Instructions

Amazon AWS EC2 Installation Instructions :1. Launch 2 or more instances of the latest GenieDB Cloudfabric EC2 AMI using 1-click or EC2 Console.2. Designate/choose one of the instances as "Node 1"in GenieDB cloudfabric cluster. This is the node where you will perform the cluster configuration. 3. SSH into the instance you have chosen to be "Node 1"as the user root with the private key selected at launch. 4. In the root user's home directory, there is a script named "install-geniedb.sh". Run this script to start the installation process (./install-geniedb.sh). 5. The script is prompt driven and will ask you questions about the nodes you want to configure for your GenieDB cluster.(A) Respond to the "Advanced Installation"prompt with "N"for no and press "Enter".(B) Respond to the "Number of Servers in cluster"prompt with the number of GenieDB servers that are in your cluster and press "Enter".(C) Respond to the "IP address of server 1"prompt by pasting or typing the public_dns or hostname of the Node 1 server and press "Enter".(D) Respond to the "SSH Key"prompt with "Y"for yes and press "Enter".(E) Respond to the "Paste ssh key"prompt by pasting the entire contents of the private key file (including any "Start"or "end"headers) used to launch the instances, followed by a single "."on a new line to indicate that you are finished with pasting.(F) Repeat steps C, D and E for each additional node in the cluster.6.
