Aspera software simplifies and accelerates the movement of data to and from the cloud. Aspera Server On Demand is software running on AWS that enables high-speed upload and download of large files and large data sets directly into Amazon S3 object storage. The solution is built on top of the Aspera FASP high-speed transfer protocol which eliminates the bottleneck associated with high-latency WANs to allow customers to quickly move data of any size over any distance to S3 at line speed. The unique Direct-to-Cloud capability integrates with the underlying AWS S3 multi-part HTTP interfaces to enable the fastest file uploads and downloads while adding key transfer management features otherwise unavailable, such as pause, resume, and encryption over the wire and at rest. Uploaded files are written directly to S3 and immediately available when the high-speed transfer completes, there is no waiting time associated with other solutions that move files to S3 as part of a second staged copy phase. Aspera Server On Demand is available as a paid subscription service, based on the amount of data transferred. The Bring Your Own Entitlement (BYOE) license key that enables this pay per use license model and can be purchased directly from Aspera, and then applied to the Aspera instance running in your AWS Maketplace account.
