Get visibility into your MySQL, Oracle and SQL Server databases running on EC2 or RDS and with expert advice to the fix the performance bottlenecks that are slowing down your applications. This AMI provides a fully functional 14-day trial of DPA.
DPA makes it easy to solve complex database issues and optimize application response times in development, test and production. With an intuitive interface with vivid graphics, DBAs, developers, and IT operations teams get a deep view into how every aspect of the system affects performance: SQL statements, server resources, execution plans, storage I/O, etc. Spend less time looking for the problem and instead, focus on fixing the performance issues that are impacting end-user experience. Performance DBAs can drill deeper to gain even greater insight, with correlations and advanced analysis with the power of Multi-Dimensional Performance Analysis.
DPA is agentless and uses read-only access to your database, so everyone can use it to understand how their work is affecting performance from application requests down to storage I/O. Performance optimization with DPA reduces the risk of overprovisioning and gives you the performance certainty. DPA runs on its own instance and stores monitoring data in a SQL Server repository set up automatically by the AMI. Trusted by thousands of database professionals worldwide, DPA makes other tools feel like relics. Become the performance guru of your team with DPA.

Usage Instructions
Once you verify in the EC2 console that your AMI EC2 instance is running, launch DPA by opening a browser and typing in http://<Your_Public_DNS> (for example: http://ec2-54-175-249-214.compute-1.amazonaws.com) . You can copy-paste that value from your EC2 console. The initial DPA password will be your EC2 instance_id, which you can get also from your EC2 console. Once in DPA for the first time, you will be asked to select a default timezone. You can then start registering databases for monitoring.
