Product Overview

Avere CloudFusion provides a highly responsive and cost effective network-attached storage (NAS) solution for AWS. With a purpose-built file system that scales beyond an exabyte, CloudFusion combines RAM, SSD, and cost effective disk storage into a simple-to-use, integrated NAS solution that optimally uses all available storage tiers. Based on data access patterns and internal caching algorithms, CloudFusion automatically and dynamically places the hottest data on the Amazon EC2 instance RAM. Warm data, which is data that was recently hot or based on internal algorithms is expected to be hot soon, is placed on an Amazon EBS General Purpose (SSD) volume for low latency access to the EC2 instance. Cold data, which typically is more than 90% of the total, is stored on efficient and resilient Amazon S3 storage, resulting in 90% lower cost than other NAS solutions and maximizing data protection.

Avere CloudFusion provides a complete NAS feature set. CloudFusion provides NFS, SMB, and mixed protocol access to data. Snapshots protect data against accidental deletion and corruption. Encryption secures data against unauthorized access. Compression makes the most efficient use of storage capacity. And, a simple and powerful web GUI makes setup and administration easy and provides powerful visibility into the file serving operations of CloudFusion.
