RancherOS is a micro Linux distribution that is perfect for running Docker containers. RancherOS runs Docker directly on top of the Linux Kernel, and distributes all user-space Linux services as Docker containers. By doing this, the operating system is very small, the number of patches is reduced, and users are able to customize OS services by simply changing a Docker container.
