This AMI includes a Riak TS installation pre-configured and optimized for use on AWS. Riak TS is a time series database designed for resilience, scale, and operational simplicity. Riak TS is the only enterprise-grade NoSQL database specifically optimized for IoT and time series data. By co-locating data, Riak TS provides faster reads and writes making it easy to ingest, transform, store and analyze massive amounts of time series data. Riak TS is masterless and distributes data evenly across the cluster. New nodes can be added and removed with minimal reshuffling of data and no downtime.

Riak TS replicates data (default of 3 replicas) and has several features to maintain availability in the event of node failure or network partition. Riak TS stores data using a simple key/value design, has HTTP and protocol buffers client (PBC) APIs, and offers a rich set of client libraries.
