Product Overview

Provides administrative functions and metadata storage for the Data Stream Utility and is a key component of the backup and restore of Teradata systems using AWS infrastructure.

Teradata Data Stream Controller is an administrative server required to enable the Data Stream Utility for object-level backup and restore of a Teradata system. It contains a private repository for all backup and restore job definitions and as well as related configuration details for Teradata systems and backup targets.

The Data Stream Utility, a client application installed on each Teradata system instance, enables object-level, parallel backup and restore of Teradata systems directly to low-cost Amazon S3 storage. The Data Stream Utility Viewpoint portlet provides the day-to-day interface for creating backup or restore jobs through a simple to use web-based interface.

By using this and other Teradata AMIs, you will be tapping into the core tools needed for the foundation of your analytic success. NOTE: This AMI is intended for use with a Teradata system, purchase separately. This AMI uses a 350 GB EBS volume for root disk and application software plus two 175 GB EBS volumes for data repository.
