Product Overview

Amazon EC2 running Ubuntu Linux provides a dependable environment for deploying applications using Microsoft SQL Server. The AMI also comes pre-installed with .NET Core 2.0, PowerShell 6 and the AWS .NET SDK to run your .NET Core applications. By running SQL Server 2017 with Ubuntu 16.04 on EC2, you can leverage the cost effectiveness, scalability and flexibility of Amazon EC2, the proven reliability, predictability and speed of Ubuntu, and AWS premium support with back-line support from Microsoft. Amazon EC2 running SQL Server on Ubuntu provides seamless integration with existing Amazon EC2 features including Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS), Amazon CloudWatch, Elastic-Load Balancing, and Elastic IPs.

After provisioning, please run $sudo /opt/mssql/bin/mssql-conf set-sa-password to set the 'sa' password.
