Product Overview

Key enabling technology for Teradata multi-system synchronization and workload routing providing Active-Active database availability with near-zero Recovery Time Objectives / Recovery Point Objectives. Entitlement comes from a paid Teradata Vantage with IntelliSphere subscription.

Unity serves as an abstraction layer for users and applications, making multiple Teradata systems appear as a single Teradata system. It provides transparent and flexible query routing and data synchronization, creating a single integration layer for the Teradata ecosystem for online applications, load processes, and reporting applications.

Unity is designed to protect user SLA's by making planned or unplanned outages transparent to business end-users. It supports user routing with or without data synchronization including:

  • Workload isolation so users can run experiments and perform data discovery on one system without disrupting the processing requirements on their analytic environment.
  • Workload balancing between different systems in the multi-system environment.
  • Workload shifting to meet month-end processing requirements or during system maintenance windows.

By using this and other Teradata AMIs, you will be tapping into the core tools needed for the foundation of your analytic success. NOTE: This AMI is intended for use with a Teradata Vantage subscription, purchased separately. This AMI uses a 350 GB EBS volume for root disk.
