Note: Always ensure your operating system is current for your needs.

This product includes both of the software packages described below:

SentryOne Data DevOps and Database Performance Monitoring

The most capable, scalable platform for Data DevOps and Database Performance Monitoring, SentryOne provides unrivaled capabilities for migrating and optimizing SQL Server workloads on Amazon RDS and EC2. With SentryOne, you can audit and monitor SSIS data packages, compare on-premises and cloud-based instance configurations, and standardize and optimize SSIS components before and after migration to AWS. SentryOne also helps data pros assess data dependencies with solutions for comparing schema and databases, analyzing object dependencies, and conducting disk space optimizing. With SentryOne, you can also conduct unit testing of data, automatically generate database documentation, conduct metadata discovery, and analyze data lineage. After the migration, SentryOne helps data pros proactively monitor, diagnose, and optimize SQL Server workloads on AWS, including SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). Although deploying SQL Server on Amazon RDS removes low-level options for managing performance, data professionals can use SentryOne as a pragmatic approach to Database Performance Monitoring. Comprehensive high-impact query analysis, animated deadlock reenactment, and the highly trusted and succinct performance dashboard from SentryOne are among many capabilities provided for SQL Server on RDS.

The SQL Server Amazon Machine Images (AMI) is built, updated, and fully-patched by AWS within five business days of Microsoft's patch Tuesday (the second Tuesday of each month). Launching an instance from this AMI enables you to run the instance as a database server and saves you the effort to install SQL Server software. This AMI comes with following software and drivers including AWS Systems Manager, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Tools for Windows PowerShell, Network drivers, and Storage drivers.

You can use AWS Launch Wizard to easily size, configure, and deploy SQL Server applications on AWS. Launch Wizard for SQL Server supports both single instance and high availability deployments according to AWS and SQL Server best practices.
