Product Overview

PrestoDB is an open source federated, distributed SQL query engine used for ad hoc analytics. PrestoDB is the open source project hosted under Linux Foundation's Presto Foundation. Ahana is a Premier Member of the Presto Foundation. PrestoDB enables querying data where it lives, including AWS S3, HDFS, Cassandra, MySQL or other relational databases, mongoDB or other NoSQL databases, or even proprietary data stores.

With the PrestoDB Sandbox AMI, you can easily get started with Presto to query data wherever your data resides. This sandbox comes with the presto-cli as well as a Hive Metastore backed by PostgreSQL bundled in. In addition, the following catalogs are bundled in to try, test, and prototype Presto:

JMX: useful for monitoring and debugging Presto
Memory: to create in memory tables that are discarded when when Presto restarts
TPC-DS: provides a set of schemas to support the TPC Benchmark DS
TPC-H: provides a set of schemas to support the TPC Benchmark H
