Cormorant/AWSHosts
Cormorant/AWSHosts
Product Overview
If you are a frequent user of the Amazon EC2 cloud, you probably spend a lot of time grabbing public IP addresses or hostnames from the EC2 console. With Cormorant/AWSHosts, you won't have to do this so much anymore, because you will be able to put an EC2 instance IDs - or any Name tag associated with an instance ID - just about anywhere you would ordinarily put a public hostname or IP address. Since instance IDs and tags persist longer than public internet addresses in EC2, enables you to make long-running associations between your off-cloud infrastructure (e.g. home or office PC) and your cloud instances. You'll be able to use ssh, putty, Remote Desktop, web browsers, and other client software with your cloud instances without having to keep track of their IP addresses.
Cormorant/AWSHosts also comes with powerful privacy tools, such as an HTTP forward proxy. See the documentation referenced from this page to see how to use the tools you already have and use on your personal computer (e.g. ssh and putty) to connect to Cormorant/AWSHosts and to use its features.
Cormorant/AWSHosts is fast and small, and easily fits in a micro instance. It is simple to set up and run. Follow the Usage Instructions in this entry, set it, and forget it. If you have questions or concerns, contact us through phone or email and we will be happy to help get you up and running.
