kdb+ time-series database is at the forefront of high-performance streaming, real-time and historical analytics. Its unified, elegant q language includes first-class tables, functions and time-series features. Its tiny footprint efficiently scales vertically and horizontally.
kdb+ 4.0 adds encryption at rest and an additional level of multi-threading performance via primitives. This multi-threading is fully transparent, requiring no code changes to exploit it. The underlying framework currently uses the number of threads configured as secondary threads on the command line. As most kdb+ primitives are memory-bound, within-primitive parallelism is intended to exploit all-core memory bandwidth available on AWS high vCPU count hardware using multi-channel memory.
