This is a pre-built and pre-populated Overpass API server. It contains a clone of the OSM database. This AMI provides the API and an Apache server as default. It also syncs with the OSM minutely updates. Overpass provides an optimized database structure which lends itself to high throughput query use cases. As such this AMI can be placed on low end compute optimized instances and scaled out to handle 1000s of queries per second, which makes it ideal for data-mining and analytics use cases. The API is available under the URL /api/interpreter

Please note:

• It is cloned with meta=no (i.e does not include meta=yes or meta=attic)
• This image does not include the areas functionality by default, but can be enabled on the instance via console access.
• Generally speaking, burstable EC2 instance are not suitable for building areas
