Port Forward Server

By: Fatal Security Latest Version: Port Forward Server R100
Linux/Unix
Linux/Unix

Product Overview

The Port Forward Server, or port address translation server, is a public facing virtual appliance which accepts incoming traffic on a user-defined port. The traffic is then forwarded in real-time to an internal private IP address, specifically to a user-defined destination port.

The typical use-case would be to use the Port Forward Server to bypass a corporate firewall which automatically drops any outbound traffic which is not over port 80 or 443.

To do this, one could configure the Port Forward Server to listen on port 443 for incoming Redshift traffic (SQL Workbench or psql). Incoming traffic would be forwarded to a Redshift server located on a private subnet, to port 5439.
