Time Machine (TM) provides software virtual clocks that enable you to time travel your applications into the future or the past, facilitating time shift testing on your date & time sensitive application logic.

TM is transparent to applications and databases so no code modification is required to do time shift testing and system clock is never modified.

Testers can time travel by themselves or automate time travel with test scripts without awaiting administrators to change time.

Virtual clocks can be set at group, user or process level, with clock speed set to normal, frozen, accelerated or decelerated. Multiple virtual clocks in the same test environment enable concurrent testing of different date/time.

Time Machine Framework for SQL (TMFSQL) enables customers using MS SQL Server to time travel specific sessions or connections, rather than the entire database instance. As a result, different sessions connecting to the same SQL Server instance can see different virtual clocks or system clock, based on your requirements and how users are sharing the instance.

This is particularly useful for multi-tenant situation in the Cloud, where different customers may be sharing the same SQL Server instance and may not want to time travel to the same time.
