    Overview

OwlDB is an enterprise-grade cloud platform that streamlines the deployment and management of Tibero in cloud environments. By leveraging the benefits of cloud computing, OwlDB offers essential database management features such as migration, backup and recovery, and real-time monitoring.

OwlDB enables fully customizable database operations by integrating with a wide range of AWS services. Unlike RDS, it allows users to access and control the underlying OS infrastructure for greater flexibility. OwlDB recommends optimized DB parameter templates based on your workload and provides them as ready-to-use presets. With an intuitive user interface, even complex database management becomes simple and accessible.

OwlDB provides Tibero 7 as the database engine, delivering enterprise-grade performance and compatibility. Tibero 7 is a high-performance, highly secure, and scalable relational database management system (RDBMS) designed for enterprises seeking to fully leverage their mission-critical data. With Tibero Active Clustering (TAC), a shared-disk-based architecture ensures reliable and uninterrupted service, even in failure scenarios. In the event of a node failure, TAC automatically fails over to a healthy node and supports flexible scaling through horizontal expansion of active nodes. Fully compatible with Oracle, Tibero allows businesses to transition smoothly from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud while maintaining high reliability and flexibility.

    Highlights

    • Simplifying Tibero deployment and management in the cloud environments
    • Easy operation through high Oracle compatibility
    • Ensuring uninterrupted service with shared-disk architecture

OwlDB for Tibero7 (Deploy into new VPC)

    • OwlDB for Tibero7 is an integrated database management service that provisions, manages, and monitors Tibero7 Single and Tibero7 TAC. In this deployment option, OwlDB is deployed on newly created AWS resources.
    • The deployment architecture of OwlDB for Tibero7 varies based on the selected database configuration and infrastructure specifications.
    • OwlDB is provisioned in a public subnet within the new VPC.
    • Through OwlDB, the Tibero database is installed in a private subnet within the same VPC.
    • Optionally, a Bastion host can be deployed in the public subnet to enable secure SSH access to the private database instance
    CloudFormation Template (CFT)

AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
