    Overview

    Product Overview

reNgine is a production-ready automated reconnaissance framework for security professionals and penetration testers. This AMI delivers a fully configured Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS system with the reNgine framework pre-installed, hardened, and ready for immediate use.

    Key Benefits

Streamline your security assessment workflows with intelligent automation that scales based on your EC2 instance resources. The system automatically manages container orchestration, security updates, and self-healing recovery without requiring manual intervention.

    What's Included

This AMI provides a complete reconnaissance testing environment with automated installation, configuration, and management of the reNgine framework. Your instance will automatically optimize scanning parameters based on available memory and vCores, while maintaining security through automated password generation and system hardening.

Container management is fully automated - if any reNgine containers crash, the system will automatically troubleshoot and restart unhealthy containers without your intervention. Security updates and patches deploy automatically within 14 days of release.

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

    Initial Setup

    1. Launch the reNgine VM instance from the marketplace
    2. Configure network security:
      • Edit the security group to allow inbound traffic from your IP address on ports:
        • TCP 22 (SSH)
        • TCP 443 (HTTPS)
        • Source: Your IP address

    Wait for Configuration

Allow approximately 5 minutes for the instance to complete its self-configuration process. During this time, reNgine will be automatically configured on the system.

    Retrieve Login Credentials

    1. Navigate to EC2 > Instances
    2. Select your reNgine instance
    3. Click Actions > Monitor and troubleshoot > Get system log
    4. Review the log output for the username and password

    Access reNgine

    1. Open your web browser
    2. Navigate to 'https://<instance-public-ip>'
      • Find the public IP in the instance details
    3. Accept the self-signed certificate warning (if presented)
    4. Log in using the credentials found in the system log

    Post-Access Configuration

    1. Complete the initial reNgine setup wizard
    2. IMPORTANT: Immediately change your password after first login
    3. Verify you can access all reNgine features

    Security Notes

    • Only open ports 22 and 443 to your specific IP address
    • Change the default password immediately after first login
    • Regularly update your security group/NSG rules
    • Monitor the instance for any suspicious activity

    Troubleshooting

If you cannot access the web interface:

    1. Verify the instance is fully running (check status)
    2. Confirm your security group/NSG rules are correctly configured
    3. Wait a full 5 minutes after instance launch
    4. Check the system logs for any error messages
    5. Verify you're using HTTPS (not HTTP) to access the interface

    Support

    If you encounter any issues:

    • Review the system logs for error messages
    • Check the reNgine documentation
    • Contact marketplace support with your instance ID
