Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Initial Setup
- Launch the reNgine VM instance from the marketplace
- Configure network security:
- Edit the security group to allow inbound traffic from your IP address on ports:
- TCP 22 (SSH)
- TCP 443 (HTTPS)
- Source: Your IP address

Wait for Configuration
Allow approximately 5 minutes for the instance to complete its self-configuration process. During this time, reNgine will be automatically configured on the system.
Retrieve Login Credentials
- Navigate to EC2 > Instances
- Select your reNgine instance
- Click Actions > Monitor and troubleshoot > Get system log
- Review the log output for the username and password
Access reNgine
- Open your web browser
- Navigate to 'https://<instance-public-ip>'
- Find the public IP in the instance details
- Accept the self-signed certificate warning (if presented)
- Log in using the credentials found in the system log
Post-Access Configuration
- Complete the initial reNgine setup wizard
- IMPORTANT: Immediately change your password after first login
- Verify you can access all reNgine features
Security Notes
- Only open ports 22 and 443 to your specific IP address
- Change the default password immediately after first login
- Regularly update your security group/NSG rules
- Monitor the instance for any suspicious activity
Troubleshooting
If you cannot access the web interface:
- Verify the instance is fully running (check status)
- Confirm your security group/NSG rules are correctly configured
- Wait a full 5 minutes after instance launch
- Check the system logs for any error messages
- Verify you're using HTTPS (not HTTP) to access the interface
