This is a minimal CentOS 6 image with the Elastic Network Adapter (ENA) enabled. It contains just enough packages to run within AWS, bring up a SSH Server and allow users to login. Cloud-init, as well as latest available CentOS 6 security updates released by the CentOS team are included.

Root login is disabled and only the 'centos' user is allowed to connect using ssh public key authentication.

This AMI uses the official CentOS6 vault repositories located at https://vault.centos.org/centos/6.10/. Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) 6 repository is installed as well. Therefore, any CentOS 6 available package can be installed using the default yum command without any additional configuration.
