Overview

The Rubrik Cluster Deployment Service provides planning, installation, and configuration services for a net new Rubrik cluster, up to the maximums specified in this Service Brief.

Important Notes

  • Rubrik Cluster: This base service covers up to one (1) Rubrik Cluster with up to one (1) Brik with a minimum of three (3) nodes and a maximum of four (4) nodes. Additional nodes can be added by purchasing the ACD-AHS-BUP-RBKEXP-BAS SKU, per four (4) nodes purchased up to a maximum of sixteen (16) nodes total in the cluster.
  • Additional Components: Replication and Switches are not included in this service. Additional service offerings exist to cover these items.
  • Number of Backup Jobs: This base service includes the configuration of backup jobs for up to five (5) Virtual Machines or five (5) Physical Servers

Service Overview

This is a fixed scope Service where experienced AHEAD personnel perform the following:

Project management Design, configuration, implementation, and verification of in-scope components Provide competed Service Deliverables Conduct Functional Overview to familiarize Clients staff with the solution. This is not a substitute for formal training.

Service Scope

During this Service, AHEAD performs the following:

  • Planning
  • Provides pre-site checklist and design requirements
  • Ensure environmental and operational requirements are met by Client
  • Plans and estimates schedules
  • Establishes project status meetings and communication cadence
  • Validates equipment is on-site at the appropriate location

Deployment Phase

  • Unboxes the appliance and all relevant parts
  • Installs the slide rails in Client provided rack
  • Installs the Rubrik appliance(s) to the fixed rails
  • Connects data network cables to customer-provided switches
  • Connects redundant power connections and powers on the nodes

**System Configuration Phase

  • Configures the Management and Data network IP addresses
  • Configures IPMI addresses
  • Configures the DNS and NTP addresses
  • Configures Client provided credentials, or a password mutually agreed to and documented
  • Verifies the system configuration matches with Pre-Site Checklist
  • Verifies the connectivity to the Client internal network
  • Collaborates with Client to integrate vCenter with Rubrik application
  • Configures and verifies the authentication services with AD for user access control
  • Configures the remote support tunnel feature
  • Configures email alerts
  • Verifies the pre-installed software from factory
  • Upgrades the Rubrik application if necessary
  • Validation and Handoff Phase
  • Backup configuration and demonstration:
  • Configures backups for up to five (5) Virtual Machine or Physical Servers:
  • Demonstrates a successful backup & restore of a single Windows/Linux Virtual Machine
  • Demonstrates a successful backup & restore of a single Windows/Linux Physical Server
  • Demonstrates the various Data protection policies available through the default SLA Domain
  • Conducts a basic product Functional Overview to familiarize the Client with the implemented solution
  • Provides the user acceptance testing requirements
  • Meets with the Client staff for project closure

Service Deliverables

The following deliverables are provided in connection with this Service:

  • High level Project Plan
  • Test Plan, which may include a basic Functional Overview
  • As-Built Guide of the implementation
  • Project Completion Form

**Service Exclusions **

AHEAD is responsible only for performing the Service, as described herein. All other services are considered out of scope. Please contact AHEAD for a list of specific exclusions.
