Pragmatic Pentaho BI 7.1 CE is a pre-configured, secure and ready to run image for running Pentaho Business Analytic s Platform (BA Platform) on Amazon EC2 in a production mode. Pentaho BI is an Open Source Business Intelligence product which provides a range of business intelligence solutions to the customers. Pentaho is a suite of application which covers the aspects of reporting, data analysis, dashboards, data integration (ETL). Once the Pentaho BA platform is implemented, the business gets access to a variety of information, including sales analysis, customers and products profitability, HR reporting, finance analysis and a complex information delivery to the top management. Reporting-Pentaho reporting provides scheduled and on-demand report publishing in popular formats. Analysis- provides analysis that includes pivot table views (JPivot), advanced graphical displays (using SVG or Flash), integrated dashboard widgets, data mining, portal and workflow integration. Analysis Services are based on Mondrian OLAP. Dashboard- provides reusable display widgets (gauges, dials, charts) which can be embedded into applications, JSPs, or within JSR-168 compliant portals.Data Mining- incorporates Weka, machine learning algorithms applied to data mining tasks combined with OLAP,provides intelligent data analysis.Data Integration is realized by an ETL tool called Kettle or Spoon,the tool provides GUI for the job design and high scalability and flexibility for the data processing.
