AWS Adoption Roadmap – Phase 1: Assessment We will work alongside your team to understand your Cloud migration readiness based on your current environment, operations, and planning.

1. First, we will identify where your organization falls on the typical Stages of Cloud Adoption: • Project (Stage 1) – You are early in your Cloud adoption readiness, with minimal or no AWS workloads, and little to no AWS expertise. • Foundational (Stage 2) – Your organization is moving towards AWS standards and has the start of a Cloud Center of Excellence / Enablement (CCoE), which drives minimal standards and operational practices. • Migration (Stage 3) – You are focused on a Cloud Migration strategy and application rationalization to help drive Cloud adoption and target hosting architecture. • Reinvention (Stage 4) – You are a mature Cloud organization, focused on continuous improvement and optimization of your Cloud solutions.

2. Next, we will uncover your organizational strengths, opportunities, and gaps regarding Cloud adoption planning, using the 6 perspectives of the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework: • Business case identification and maturity. What are your organization drivers behind Cloud migration? What is your motivation for migrating? What are your KPIs and/or OKRs? • Application portfolio discovery and migration planning. Have you defined a structured and strategic cloud adoption backlog? Have you identified a migration roadmap? • Skills and Center of Excellence maturity. Do you have standard approaches across your organization? How much knowledge do you have about the tools, capabilities, and opportunities that exist? • Landing Zone Architecture. What does your current environment look like and what can it handle? Do you know what type of environment is needed to handle your workloads? • Operating Model. Do you know who is responsible for what? Have you defined a realistic and relevant budget? Do you have real-time monitoring for your workloads to identify issues, errors, breaches, or outages? What automation is currently implemented (if any)? • Security and Compliance. Have you established proper Cloud governance, IAM, or regulatory compliance? Are you protecting your data and infrastructure? What is currently in place to protect your workloads?

3. Last, CEI will collaborate with you to develop an action plan tailored to your organization’s needs, your current stage of adoption, and will identify opportunities for growth across the 6 perspectives of the Cloud Adoption Framework.

This Assessment is the first step towards advancing your organization’s Cloud adoption maturity. In most cases, the Assessment Phase will be completed in 2-6 weeks.
