Product Overview

Numerical prediction with WRF, MPAS, CMAQ & CAMx on AWS (AMD EPYC3) provides a complete package to manage WRF, WRF-CHEM, WRFDA, MPAS, CMAQ, WRF-CMAQ and CAMx. These apps represent state-of-the-art numerical modeling tools for weather prediction and air quality modeling. They work independently or coupled to produce a simultaneous forecast of air quality and weather.
The AMI includes binaries optimized for maximum performance on AMD-EPYC3 processors (instance families m6a, c6a and hpc6a) along with several tools for data processing and cluster performance & cost monitoring. It has dual functionality as the AMI can be used either on single instances or by clusters launched with AWS ParallelCluster. For the latter case, the AMI includes several tools to monitor cluster performance & cost. The AMI also works with spot prices (usual conditions apply) for instances and cluster compute nodes, so substantial savings are available.
The package includes the following features:
-WRF v4.3.1 for single tiled and multi-tiled jobs
-MPAS
-CMAQ v5.3.3 includes the standard, CMAQ-ISAM and CMAQ-DDM3D models
-Two-way model: WRF v4.3-CMAQ v5.3.3
-CAMx v7.10 for single tiled and multi-tiled jobs
-Several pre/postprocessing tools including WPS, SMOKE, VERDI and IDV
-Tools for monitoring cluster performance & cost via Grafana dashboards
