You may use the GUI-driven migration tool will help you migrate your Cisco Cloud Services Router 1000V (CSR 1000V) instance running in autonomous mode to a Cisco Catalyst 8000V (C8000V) instance. This migration uses AWS CloudFormation template based automation to spin-up a new instance of Catalyst 8000V and copy the configuration files from the CSR 1000V instance. You can batch migrate up to ten CSR 1000V instances in one go. The migrated instances will include the enhanced "secure object storage" feature in C8000V that stores all sensitive configuration information in an encrypted file system inside the VM. See the chapter in the Catalyst 8000V Configuration Guide for AWS for more details.

As part of Cisco's Cloud connect portfolio, the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) for the Transit Network VPC solution of the Cisco Cloud Services Router (CSR1000V) delivers the maximum performance for virtual enterprise-class networking services in the AWS cloud. The transit VPC serves as a global network transit center for connecting multiple, geographically dispersed VPCs and remote networks. To activate this AMI, please obtain a license from Cisco with the following: (1) Tech Package: SEC or AX (2) Performance Level: 500 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps or 5Gbps and (3) Time period: 1-year, 3-year, or perpetual. The recommended instance types per throughput are: 500Mbps on c5.large, 1Gbps on c5.xlarge and 2.5Gbps on c5.2xlarge and 4.5Gbps on c5.4xlarge.
