Incredibly Buggy, Horrible Customer Support
Strange issues with licensing, ssl, nginx, etc. Too many bugs to list. I've been using plesk for over 5 years so I do have experience using Plesk versions 9 through 11. Support has acknowledged my ticket on multiple occasions but have had no resolution in weeks.
It's Broke
Unfortunately this AMI is not production ready any longer.
Specifically updates do not work due to 404'ing repositories.
And the license only works for a single domain.
I burned several hours attempting to Google fixes.
Also the Plesk support folks I spoke with are completely unaware of this AMI and AWS in general and were no help on either issue.
Do not waste your time with this one.
Great Product - Hard to use behind VPC
I completely love using Plesk for my clients. It allows them to have simple and easy access to just the settings they should have. I found the AMI to be a tiny bit incomplete with regards to handling VPC internal addressing, I don't suggest using it for the VPC's unless you know what you're doing. Otherwise Rock Solid.
Great product!
I've been using this since a week and it works great. Fast deployment and easy management of multiple hosting accounts and plans.
I really recommend this.
FAST Reliable + NGINX + PHP FPM + FastCGi
I was wondering to try the new updated panel 11.5, that can be upgraded after you install the 11.0.9, regardless what they say about NAT Routing and IP Mapping.. it works GREAT, FAST, at low cost.. narrows down the servers cost, MEMORY and CPU to -50% when you enable the Nginx that works with PHP-FPM sw engine with FastCGi. Got more than 100 concurrent on 1 EC2 Small with Load up to 2 instead of 5 on a normal apache server.. Parallels knows her Job very well and saves money and time!!
It's Plesk, and it's working
The install went quickly and the instance was ready to use in about 5 minutes. There weren't to many updates to install after it spun up, and the configuration was done really well. If you are familiar with Plesk and looking for a way to run Plesk on AWS I would recommend it. I am using it because I needed a shared platform for smaller projects and wanted a GUI to manage the virtual hosts.
Painel Parallels AWS EC2
As funcionalidades do painel Plesk são muitas, suficiente para o gerenciamento de um Host, ainda mais com todos os recursos da AWS, recomendo.
Well presented image, easy to install, configure and manage.
Faced with the dilemma of whether to migrate my customers from hosting with my current ISP to hosting on either a VPS or a dedicated server with my ISP, Amazon EC2 and the Plesk environment offered a great way to experiment and get started with no upfront costs and/or contracts.
I would strongly recommend reading the Plesk manuals and/or taking the Amazon AWS tutorial on Lynda.com. Otherwise you will stumble with DNS and/or Mail services (easy once you know how).
If you are an IT Manager requiring services for a single company or a small design/ISP office, I strongly recommend evaluating this product.
Be careful
This was my first experience with Plesk and have not been thrilled with the experience.
The product (as given) only grants the ability to build 10 websites using Web Presence Builder. This was a problem for me and when I inquired about getting more licenses, Parallels referred me to the reseller Amazon, where I did not find any way of getting more licenses. Not happy.
