It is amazing!

After little to no configuration, the server was up and running like a charm :)

It's a good way to work using all your ISP upstream speed to send huge files to other states, countries and across the ocean... Recommended!

On-Demand... Great

This is a great solution for us. We don't need an Aspera server all of the time and paying for the full license does not make sense. Integrating the Faspex server with the easy of AWS is perfect. I use IAM and Elastic IPs to make sure my team can manage this server and our costs.
The setup is simple and once setup turn it on when you need it, off when you want to save some cash.

Need a faster on demand version and gui from S3

For those of us in the entertainment business using Aspera to transfer to the digital platforms (Hulu/Amazon/Vudu/Google etc) is a requirement set by these large digital platforms. The concept of this product is fantastic - pay for what you use.

The reality is that 20 mbps is too slow. We need a faster version and would be willing to pay a reasonable premium for this. if this is a starter, offer a "mature" product without having forcing us to commit to the licensing cost of the "bring your own license" products.

Also, if you store your videos or large files on S3 or an EBS volume you'll need to use the command line to transfer files to another Aspera server (Aspera server to Aspera server). This is a pain that can be easily solved if Aspera enabled us to docroot to S3 or another external EBS. Storing a large video file(s) on S3 to transfer to multiple different aspera servers is the goal. Having a gui would be convenient.

Aspera needs to create useful products that serve the needs of not just the large studios but the smaller distributor as well.

Simple and smart

Installation is very simple and configuration as well.
The product is not complex for end users too.
But the result is just good with fast reliable transfers.
May be a problem as Faspex is using private address of the instance rather than it's public name forcing to review every link in notifications.
