Easy and Fast
Have setup multiple servers via this way, its easy and fast to do. Servers are running fine and Plesk is quite stable.
Hopefully 11.5 will be out soon, so don't have to do the upgrade everytime.
One little point, Centos doesnt have a 'independent_wallclock', so that part from the given KB will not work. Need to check with Support to get your timezone etc fixed. Would be good if this bug could be fixed automatically.
Don't detach the volume
Don't detach the volume from the instance.
Instances installed from marketplace can't attach the volume to another instance.

After installation Amazon instance requires a some time to place a customer's private ssh key.
It can take approximately 2-5 minutes. After that Plesk may take some time to install all microupdates and Plesk license key.
So.. actually you should wait 5-10 minutes before instance will be ready to use.

Parallels Plesk Panel seems to be good deal !
I'm trying out Parallels Plesk panel to administer a Centos 6.3 VPS server, for Web hosting purposes a couple of days now.
I experimented mostly with free panels so far, like Webmin, Zpanel, ISPconfig.
Compared with the others I tested Parallels is miles ahead.
I has a quite intuitive web interface, it makes it relatively easy to host multiple websites and installing web applications like Wordpress, Joomla... is done pretty straightforward with a bunch of clicks.
So far it works reliable. Seems like a good deal. Though I'm looking ahead to try out also Cpanel, then I'll make my final assessment.
instance create from marketplace can't attach the volume to another instance
If your instance created from marketplace. When your system crash and don't start anymore. You can't attach the volume of this instance to another instance. And you can not get the file in the crash system.
m1.small
Dear Parallels,
Could you please modify your AMI's so as to enable the use of m1.small instance type ?
Many thanks!
