Great... until you want to move to current gen hardware.
This has been running great on an m1.large cluster. We wanted to move to the new generation hardware and go r3.large but can't. Apparently its a restriction in place on the base AMI from the market place.

3 ColdFusion migrations to this AMI without any issues
I've been working with ColdFusion since 2001 but never in a cloud based environment like this. We set up load balancing with up to four m1.large EC2 instances since that is what this enterprise ColdFusion license will allow up to. On 80% memory or CPU utilization the extra servers are scaled up with auto SVN pulls every 5 minutes and each one connected to RDS datasource. Four load balanced servers turned out to be cheap (and many many times faster) than two servers at Rackspace. Can't beat it!!
Quick and Elastic ColdFusion
This AMI makes it easier than ever to get ColdFusion up and running on AWS. The hourly pricing model now allows you to run ColdFusion in a fully elastic manner without worry of licensing. This is the ideal way to run ColdFusion on sites with high traffic fluctuations.
