Great way to protect/manage AWS applications with same Actifio UI experience!
This tool is great. We’ve been working with Actifio for on-premise workloads and offering services for automated recovery using Actifio with AWS as the cloud back-end. This new Sky for AWS, however, lets people run Actifio on their own in EC2 for their AWS-resident workloads.
We started using the free trial version. Installation was smooth. Just watch to put the right info in the Access IP and applianceName fields while filling out the Cloud Formation Template. Once installed, we had the same easy GUI we work from for our non-cloud instances of Actifio. Easy ways to create protection (backup and replication) SLAs for our important apps. And recovery of protected apps is silly fast with Instant Mount, because it comes out the snap pool. I know a lot of people are looking at using Actifio mounts for test & dev, which makes a lot of sense in AWS, but we haven’t started with that yet.
