Amazon Linux AMI (HVM / 64-bit)
Amazon Web Services | 2018.03.0.20190611Linux/Unix, Amazon Linux 2018.03 - 64-bit Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Stable, fast, secure priced right
I have been using Amazon Linux for over a year and half now. It is really stable and secure, tons of repository installs. even stuff not in the repositories can be installed if they are built for Centos. I think that they should add a swap or at least a button option, since the free tier machine does not have one, but mysql and LAMP really need it. Speed ends up being OK since Amazon offers on demand IOPS for the standard SSD drive.

Best distro for 99% of AWS Linux use cases ...
This is a minimal distro with nothing extra installed but a full repo of all the packages you need. Well maintained, very fast, and easy to use. CentOS/RedHat users will feel right at home. We moved everything over to Amazon Linux and haven't looked back.
Solid, Simple
This is a solid and basic Linux distribution. Amazon is quick to release patches/updates. I have had great success using this AMI.
Description should state what distro this is based on
I'm very confident in using Amazon Linux on my project, as my requirements are not so harsh (I just need Apache 2.4 and PHP 5.6 for now, both of which are packaged and super easy to install) and the benefits are huge in terms of ease of use and maintainability.
But one thing I feel needs to be in the description is what distribution this is based on. At least it should state what directions Amazon is taking, like desired compatibility with this or that distribution.
I think this product works well
I was happy to use this product as it enhances the system that i am using to further my business on amazon , i would reccomend it to any one
