Wowza Streaming Enigne is very good for OTT platforms or video streaming engine.
What do you like best about the product?
Powerful and don't have any latency or delay at all.

I am glad to use Wowza, there is not dislike about it absolutely.

Wowza Streaming Engine solved broadcasting of vide streaming easily in our platform.

It was do it yourself at first but a rewarding platform to put to high capacity use

The ability to deliver on different renditions and ingest from almost everywhere around the world.
What do you dislike about the product?
The huge load of options to tune in the engine dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cost problem as I previously used Wowza Streaming Service which is a wholesome solution but not much cost friendly. My usage was little below 3000 concurrent users so streaming engine was more than enough.
Professional grade Streaming engine
What do you like best about the product?
Wowza is a very robust platform for streaming. For both Live TV & VOD supports a wide range of protocol seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although they have a robust platform, their pricing modality sucks. In 2019, I purchased a perpetual license that doesn't support any latest patches. I'm somewhat forced to buy a support plan.

Raw feed transcoding & Ensuring Endmile delivery for OTT Streaming platform. Supports both headend & end-mile sections of a streaming platform.

It offers high-quality video and audio streaming across multiple platforms and devices.

We have a web portal that people need to preview audio from and Wowza allows up to build and support that player.
Customisable and Secure Streaming Engine
What do you like best about the product?
It's capability in customisation according to it's customer's need is great. Specially when it comes to developer it has various options which are easy to build the solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the integration solution like flowplayer is bit complex and not as streamlined as it should be. Specially interatice playback feature is need to improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza streaming engine is best when it comes to customisation. However it's other features of security and scalability is better in every aspect in this domain.

It's very flexible. It can be used on various operating systems including Windows and Linux. I have used it along with Windows 2008 and 2012 over an intranet.

Nothing to dislike. But more information regarding analytics could help.

It mainly helped my earlier organization in resolving intranet streaming quality issues.

It's reliable with multiple custom options for streaming.

I would recommend to have some more languages support so that it can be used by other development people who are comfortable working in just limited languages..

The most common problem is getting a reliable service provider for streaming. So wowza proved to be reliable and easy to understand integration and this benefited integrating it easily.
Easy Setup Video Streaming Application
What do you like best about the product?
Wowza streaming is very easy to set up and Wowza media solutions provide tons of resources that help and guide how to use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the help support will take a few days to reply to a raised ticket. But other than that I have not found anything to dislike

I use Wowza engine for live streaming of events and it has served my purpose for small scale viewership.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to live stream content to a small audience then Wowza engine is the solution. You can deploy it on a cloud or on a local machine easily and there are a lot of support documents that help and guide you to do that.
Wowza Media Server is the Best
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Wowza for Streaming for over a decade. The latest Wowza Streaming Engine is the best available so far. The web management feature is really good, there is no more messing around with config files like some of the older versions. This media engine serves just about all the formats that anyone would need, It is stable and a true work horse. If you ever have to ask for support they are on it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say there is a single thing that I do not like about this product. The only thing I would not like to see is is they get purchased by some big company. From what I can tell they focus on their streaming technologies and that is a good thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had to build an in house secure VOD system to sever thousands of videos that were over an hour long. Our front end is written in PHP and the whole system is authenticated through our LMS using LTI. It is secure and encrypted using StreamLink. The Streaming Engine is rock solid and the only time we need to touch it is to upgrade to a newer version.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to host your own streaming engine I would look no further than the Wowza media server. It is solid, fast, efficient , and easy to set up. Documentation is good and their support is stellar.
