Fast track insights for beginners using RapidMiner

  • July 09, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
- as someone trying to gain insight into Data Science - the RapidMiner Academy can be free and quickly introduces the beginner to ideas in Data Science through many short videos that are upbeat and comedic. A beginner will want to learn more. And RapidMiner packages many methods of solution together EVEN though a beginner may not understand all the solutions at first. RapidMiner advertises itself as a solution to solve problems when the person looking for solutions is not totally experienced - the RapidMiner software has been created to help the Data person get better and better results - sooner! When you look at packages in R or Python - you realize that RapidMiner must have required much programming to simplify the programming to be able to plug in PICTORIAL processes instead. And aren't pictures in a flow diagram much easier to understand than other Programming Language routines strung together without pictures?
What do you dislike?
Compared to alternative software packages - have not found any problems. Ease of use and power of solutions makes it the first choice.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Student only

What do you like best?
The visualized interface, detailed decription of each operator
What do you dislike?
The software requires a lot of memory; thus, some old devices, like my laptop is struggling running this software.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Actually, I am novice in data mining and the problems that I have solved are quite basic. The benefits of using this tool is that it is not necessary to do any coding while you can reach a desired solution.

Everything is cool except huge load on RAM

  • July 01, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
Simple procedure of building models, good helping panel. Subprocess window allows to do process much simpler
What do you dislike?
RAM load is too high, sometimes limitations on graphs make the work not as perfect as it can be expected
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I used it for the study. Building predictive models and analyzing them was pretty easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to work in that app you should have a lot of ram

Great Visual Platform for New Comers to Data Science

  • June 30, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
Intuitive visual design UX and the reliability
What do you dislike?
The inability to easily extend or incorporate FOSS AI/ML libraries and custom code
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Introducing Liberal Arts students and Academics to Data Science, ML and AI who have little statistical or tech background but otherwise have interesting problems to solve
Recommendations to others considering the product:
RM is somewhat of an island much like Tableau Software. It would be nice if the option existed to easily extend it and incorporate FOSS software like scikit-learn, keras and pytorch to grow beyond the visual interface (which is a great introduction).

RapidMiner is powerful easy to use

  • June 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
You can easily find updated information at their web page, so for me it is very useful.

When you prepare data prior to analyze it RapidMiner allows you to obtain a data review and then you can process the data with other tools inside RapidMiner so you don't need to open an Excel to validate the data.

Another pros with RapidMiner is the Auto model tool, it gives you a model then you can use this model as a source to test your data.
What do you dislike?
When you read data into the tool and put it inside a repository, it could be more easy.

I would like to present data retrieved from Auto Model to an interactive web site to show the information obtained.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
On RapidMiner while your are solving a problem, it gives you a hint so you can't get lost and solve the problem on this moment, then you can continue and finish your project efficiently.

I used RapidMiner for academics purpose.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The tool has a fast learning curve so just use it.
