Awesome product + awesome support and documentation
I've used OpenShot desktop app quite a few times in the past years.
I started working on video project (soon to be lunched) and got very gladly surprised when I found out about OpenShot Cloud API.
First, I liked their powerful features, then the documentation. So after that, I decided to give it a try. It was a breezy to start developing using their AMI/API. But even with a good API and good documentation, sometimes we might need a helping hand, and every time I needed help, I got a fast and 100% effective response.
Besides all these good things about OpenShot Cloud API, it feels good to support OpenShot Project.

What do you like best about the product?
Me gusta porque es gratuito y se puede hacer casi lo mismo que con los softwares pagos. Es una excelente opción gratuita para la edición de vídeos para redes sociales. Tiene una línea de tiempo amplia que permite visualizar muy bien dónde se ubican los elementos, el audio se puede recortar, tiene algunos efectos tanto de transición, como otras aplicables a los vídeos. Es bastante bueno y fácil de usar, en términos generales.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lo único que me molesta es que para modificar las letras necesito instalar otro software y hacerlo desde allí. Es bastante molesto y me gustaría que viniese integrado al software completo. Cuando los vídeos son largos y con muchos elementos, se paraliza y se cierra el software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hago contenido con este software cuando no requiere de muchos elementos ya que si sobrepasa su capacidad, colapsa. Es bastante útil para hacer vídeos cortos para redes sociales con música y algunas letras. De esta forma funciona de maravilla, además de que es gratuito lo que le aporta un plus.

Es un software básico de edición de vídeos, pero si vas a hacer vídeos cortos para redes sociales, incluso si estas comenzando a subir vídeos a Youtube, está muy bien. Recuerda que es gratuito.

Main drawback of OpenShot Video Editor is getting more and more time to buildup final video ,Sometime processing time goes as a 3 hours,And sometime that edited video came with crash.It mean you
waste your 3 hours for nothing,And also we can use only limited transitions and effects,Some time after finished the edit audio is broken or quality of sound be came low,

Before I used OpenShot Video Editor,I haven't any video editor free .If I want to trimming or join video ,I must to pay,As a result we can't find best one,But I found OpenShot that all problem gone,I can do snapping,trimming,Add water mark,Joining,add transitions and add effects by using this software

Es multi-plataforma, no tiene costo, se pueden editar diferentes formatos de video o audio, se puede reproducir cuadro a cuadro para poder verificar los trabajos realizados, se pueden ingresar efectos digitales, además de créditos, audios, subtítulos, entre otros

De lo que no me agrada es que no está del todo optimizado y a pesar de que está usando un hardware de gama alta, no se aprovechan del todo la potencia gráfica ni los buses de datos del mismo

Es bueno para realizar ediciones para publicidad, además para hacer videos informativos sobre diferentes productos, en varios proyectos lo he utilizado, como soporta varios formatos me facilita el trabajo cuando el cliente cuenta con varios tipos de formatos para su video, también se pueden editar entrevistas grabadas

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most is that OpenShot Video Editor is completely free and open source! For home users who are looking to make a video as a part of a presentation or for their own YouTube channel, OpenShot Video Editor fits the bill. OpenShot has a very user friendly interface and you can see all the available features within the main window, so you don't have to around looking through the menu to find one particular feature for editing the video or audio that you need. Every basic feature that one would need is presented in a simple manner to make video editing easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't come across anything I dislike. My use for OpenShot Video Editor does not go beyond adding audio clips to existing video clips, cutting audio and video clips, combining two audio clips, etc. So far, OpenShot has managed to allow me to do my work without any issues at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I personally use OpenShot Video Editor for my YouTube channel where I upload compilations of clips from my video game sessions. As someone who's used Windows Movie Maker and Sony Vegas Pro, I'm just astounded at how OpenShot has everything that I needed from Sony Vegas Pro for absolutely no cost of money!
It has now become incredibly easy and time-saving for me to make videos of my game-play with music added in the background on YouTube, which is all I can ask for.

I'd highly recommend using OpenShot Video Editor if you're looking for a video editing software for your basic needs such as compiling videos, adding audio or music files to existing video clips, etc or longer videos for YouTube purposes. OpenShot provides everything except graphic editing that suit most, if not all, your needs.
Simple but seems to be missing some key features
What do you like best about the product?
I obviously appreciate that its free. It is also simple to import videos into the program from several formats.
What do you dislike about the product?
My main issue has been that for any new video clip added, you have to manually reorganize your project to give it space. I have also not found how to mark the beginning and end of each clip which would be helpful instead of manually doing it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been a great free way to edit and compile short videos into longer summaries. Its also helpful that it can take videos from multiple formats.

Me encanta lo fácil que es la interfaz de usuario, es intuitiva y es de código abierto. Se puede descargar directamente en su pagina web totalmente gratis. Podemos crear todo tipo de vídeos ya que soporta diferentes formatos. Se pueden agregar varios elementos y ofrece diferentes tipos de transiciones y efectos. Se puede integrar con Blender, Inkscape y con otros softwares para resultados mas profesionales. Es sumamente ligero, consume poca RAM en comparación con otros softwares editores de vídeo.

Lo único que no me agrada de OpenShot es que, cuando le agrego muchos elementos, es capaz de colgarse y tengo que reiniciar para poder continuar. No es algo habitual pero me ha ocurrido unas pocas veces así que intento guardar constantemente.

Parte de mi trabajo es crear elementos visuales para el cliente y sus paginas web, entre ellos vídeos de corta duración que no toman mucho tiempo en crearlos. En estos casos, elijo OpenShot porque es gratis, no exige mucha RAM y es compatible con cualquier formato. Debido a que está en constante desarrollo, es un software que tiene mucho potencial, que esta en constante crecimiento y que vale la pena aprender a usar.

Es un software que recomiendo, pues no tiene nada que envidiarle a otros softwares más conocidos y de pago. Es un excelente editor de vídeos!
One amazing tool for All platforms
What do you like best about the product?
Title and Effects are the most amazing things in this tool. Since this is cross platform and very user friendly it is easy to use. Interface and the workflow are just too perfect for a video editing tool. Pretty fast and does not log unlike other video editing tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
This lags when some effects are applied. Few bugs are there in the software, other than that this is a pretty amazing tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Day to day processes in the company where i do presentations and demonstrations for my clients.

Openshot is a very simple editor that is great for people with out a lot of video editing experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
It lacks complex video editing functions such as 3d tracking and advanced color grading.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly cutting clips down and adding overlays. Open shot is very simple and fast.

Es un software gratuito de código libre. Tiene varios efectos de transición, se puede animar el texto, modificarlo y agregar elementos de diversos tipos. Me gusta la integración con Blender e Inkscape ya que permite ampliar las funciones del programa, mejorar los textos, hacer imágenes y animaciones de cualquier tipo.

Me incomoda que necesite de softwares externos como Inkscape y Blender ya que incrementa la curva de aprendizaje, debido a que debes aprender a usar los tres softwares para lograr hacer un vídeo profesional. Para ser gratis está muy bien, pero los softwares de pago son mucho más fáciles de usar y disponen de muchos más efectos.

Hago mucho material de apoyo para las clases que dicto, algunas veces debo hacer vídeos y esta es la herramienta que uso. Los vídeos que hago son básicos, con texto, transiciones y algunas animaciones sencillas pero las veces que he intentado hacer algo más elaborado me he topado con trabas debido a que debo saber manejar muy bien Inkscape y Blender. No está mal, pero muchas veces es mejor la simplicidad. Creo que para novatos como yo, el uso de las funciones básicas esta bien. Cumple con el objetivo y lo más importantes, es gratuito y al alcance de todos.

Es un excelente software tomando en cuenta que es gratuito y de código abierto. Si se logra superar la curva de aprendizaje, se pueden hacer vídeos de excelente calidad. Para novatos va muy bien ya que tiene las funciones básicas y son muy fáciles de usar.
