Amazing for educational institution
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of this product is it lets me access all my course documents with ease. Its user friendly

There is nothing i dislike about blackboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using it for my Graduate course. Lets me retrieve stuffs easily
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its just amazing. Lets you access the content at ease. And it is more reliable. I have never seen site crash ever.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can now easily navigate to the classes that I have taken/am taking and find my grades and notifications easily from teachers and students.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that sometimes the uploaded material for classes gets lost if the teacher doesn't know how to use the software. We have had to request that the information be reuploaded in some cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This app is an easy way to distribute information between professors and students. It helps organzie all of the inforamtion in one place and is easily accessible.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that you work to understand the software before setting out to use it.

What do you like best about the product?
As an online system, users are not required to download any new programs in order to use Blackboard. Blackboard is free for student-use, and is relatively consistent in terms of reliability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Blackboard is mildly awkward to use on every platform. User interface is not intuitive, the messaging system is confusing and bizarre, and the site often has issues loading. Once "inactive" for a period of time, the system will force-log the user out, potentially jeopardizing unsaved work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Online network provides employees with a centralized file-sharing, publishing, and writing platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As with all education related-technology, make sure to train professors and instructors on platform use before having them attempt to use it with students. Make sure all classes are clearly and CONSISTENTLY labeled, so that students have a pre-set course subject/number/section formula to help them with finding the correct classes to join.
Essential for Collegiate Studies
What do you like best about the product?
It is a one stop shop for both the students and the professors. As a current student, in an online Masters program, it would be impossible to complete my degree without this application.
What do you dislike about the product?
Blackboard Collaborative is currently not compatible with Chromebooks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used on a personal level, but it makes it easy to complete coursework throughout the day.
Blackboard for Online College Courses
What do you like best about the product?
I like that my course material is organized and is easy to navigate. Blackboard has a place for contact information and sending messages directly through the software. That makes it easy and so you don't have to go into your email account and copy classmates information. The menu navigation is always available on the left hand side for easy searching.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish you could open two parts of the app at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Blackboard as a student. It helps me take courses in the evening online without having to go to campus.
Definite learning curve, but good for what you need
What do you like best about the product?
I love that each organization can truly customize their blackboard website. Blackboard provides the template, but your web admin can really do a lot to customize to your school's needs. Upon log in it is always nice to have some quick links readily available for parents.
What do you dislike about the product?
Blackboard makes uploading information difficult for the users/teachers. I feel like I need to do some extra steps to get anything accomplished. It could be more efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to disperse information to families easily through blackboard. I can also organize and separate my courses through their website. I can log in from any computer, and so can my students, to access my information.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to schedule announcements is a useful feature. Inline grading is also useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The gradebook is limited, and the user is required to do too much scrolling to use it.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how many different aspects there are to Blackboard. I also like how each instructor can customize it for their classes. Every one of my classes has different links and information for that specific class. If you wanted to, you truly could link a lot of resources and assignments in addition to the standard format for a hybrid or online class. It's user friendly for the most part. You can also email directly through Blackboard. You can also search for classmates if you don't have contact information and need to find out information about an assignment your group is working on, for example.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just a couple things that I can think of are not intuitive for the user. Clicking on a specific part of the submission assignment page to see a grade if not the way I would expect it to be designed. When trying to read in text comments on graded assignments, you have to expand it in a such a way that doesn't seem like it would be an option if you want to read what your instructor has noted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Even for in-person classes, Blackboard is still used, and it provides a hub for information and discussion between classes. This is helpful for group communication.
Great Facilitator For Online Learning
What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard has great formatting. It organizes all the classes in a well-presented manner. Taking a quiz on blackboard is very easy. Sorting through assignments and finding students to communicate also works very well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found the interface to be a little busy. When compared to "Canvas" I thought Canvas was a little easier to use. The discussion board option is a little awkward in how the conversations flow. I suppose this could be improved down the road.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Definitely brings together a great amount of information into a great environment. The more the administrators put into it, the more you can benefit. When a professor really put a lot of time into their side of Blackboard, the users can greatly benefit from their time. Like any system, its all about how much effort is put into it configuring it.

Definitely worth looking into, however also Check out Canvas.

Blackboard keeps all our discussion posts organized so that I can comment on my peers' work and I can receive feedback from them.

The interface can be a little confusing to find discussion posts and different threads.
