What do you like best?
Wowza streaming is very easy to set up and Wowza media solutions provide tons of resources that help and guide how to use it.
What do you dislike?
Sometimes the help support will take a few days to reply to a raised ticket. But other than that I have not found anything to dislike
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I use Wowza engine for live streaming of events and it has served my purpose for small scale viewership.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to live stream content to a small audience then Wowza engine is the solution. You can deploy it on a cloud or on a local machine easily and there are a lot of support documents that help and guide you to do that.

Wowza Media Server is the Best

What do you like best?
We have been using Wowza for Streaming for over a decade. The latest Wowza Streaming Engine is the best available so far. The web management feature is really good, there is no more messing around with config files like some of the older versions. This media engine serves just about all the formats that anyone would need, It is stable and a true work horse. If you ever have to ask for support they are on it.
What do you dislike?
I can't say there is a single thing that I do not like about this product. The only thing I would not like to see is is they get purchased by some big company. From what I can tell they focus on their streaming technologies and that is a good thing.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We had to build an in house secure VOD system to sever thousands of videos that were over an hour long. Our front end is written in PHP and the whole system is authenticated through our LMS using LTI. It is secure and encrypted using StreamLink. The Streaming Engine is rock solid and the only time we need to touch it is to upgrade to a newer version.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to host your own streaming engine I would look no further than the Wowza media server. It is solid, fast, efficient , and easy to set up. Documentation is good and their support is stellar.

1 year support only for all life license makes no sence because updates all life will need support...
The log files take tooo much space over time and I am not sure I read about alert to put them somewhere not to fill the disk!

Easy and Expert Solution

What do you like best?
It's very easy to manage it via web management panel. Our staff even newbies can manage it easily. In case of any problem they have a very good community for asking. It's possible to find your questions on their forum.

And it has a very good transcoder for transcoding streams to different bitrates. With GPU and Intel Quicksync support we are able to transcode many streams in a single box.
What do you dislike?
Poor Analytics . You need other tools to get deeper statistics and data. Also you can't keep historical data.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
It supports GPU transcoding. We are doing same operation with a single server instead of 20 server.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please spend some time to try and configure it. It could solve all your needs.
