Partial functionality
This AMI will get you up and running with the vanilla forums quickly but it is not without problems. Firstly it is based on version 2.5 of the software - current version is 3.3 and there is no one click update - you have to install the new version yourself making it fairly pointless to pay for this AMI. Secondly there is a fault with the configuration in that it does not allow uploading of images / files. It does not appear to be a folder permission issue. Could not find a solution and was more hassle to try and fix than to build a new server from scratch.
It did however, give me an opportunity to see some of the functionality of Vanilla to see if it was worth pursuing further but it is unclear how much functionality is missing due to it being an older version and even basics like file upload not working.
