Citrix ADC - Versatile Security Appliance
What do you like best about the product?
The Citrix ADC product line offers a wide array of functions and features for securing user access into our environment. We like how this product can be used for many uses (load balancing, content switching, gateway access, posture validation, etc).
What do you dislike about the product?
The menu flow isn't the most intuitive and makes it hard to get used to plus help train other people on. You'll find certain logs/etc can't be accessed from the GUI requiring extra knowledge on of the CLI. You have to be very careful with upgrades we always work with our TAM to ensure our upgrade path/version so we minimize our risk and introducing any new issues in our environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Citrix ADC prodvies a secure channel for our users to connect through and load balance allowing us to offer maximum aviablibity as we can incorporate multple levels of redundancy. It also give us the ability to have deeper visibility into users sessions and help breakdown potential issues as they arrise.

What do you like best about the product?
Upgrading the ADC software is usually straightforward and easy. Also any support issues for the ADC is usually excellent those are the important points for me
What do you dislike about the product?
My experience with the EPA is what I dislike and is not working very well for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping us as a secure gateway and access point into our network

ADC is a good product do your research because its a very powerful piece of equipment which can meet your needs in most situations

Manage access for the VDI and apps from the users outside of the company network

It is very reliable. Like this product, so nothing so far

The Citrix ADC can deliver Citrix app from multiple Citrix environments very seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Citrix advanced policies can be more challenging to learn or write.

Pulls together 3 hosted environments and 3 local on-premise environments.

I cannot think of anything I do not like about the product at this time

Citrix ADC has been our load balancing platform for many years and it is solid

Citrix ADC is a great product. We have used it for load balancing for many years.

What do you like best about the product?
Well supported. Good features. Fixes for security issues are sent out quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes confusing to find where things are in the GUI interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use ADC to present SSL communication to the public and hide the backend servers from being exposed.

I am constantly finding new features, and have been able to engineer entire solutions to benefit my company using ADC.
What do you dislike about the product?
Policy expressions have become complicated with the push to replace Classic Expressions with Advanced Expressions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Controlling and customizing Application and Website Delivery, as well as securing authentication methods. I can engineer a solution from start-to-finish that is both user-friendly and highly secure.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A great solution and with much better pricing than F5 or other Load Balancers!

For something to be able to do everything, sometimes it is hard to get it to do anything.
