Moxa Review
What do you like best?
Very simple setup and saving and uploading configuration files are simple as well. I don't have lot of negative thing to say about the product. It's actually a robust modem for such a tiny device. It has to take on extreme temperatures and handles it just fine. Weather like sub-zero and above 110 F. It is a very rugged device, It can take a beating and keep going to a long period of time.
What do you dislike?
The can be glitchy connection wise from time to time. Worse case scenario, like many micro controller the unit can just stop working for zero reason. But just resetting the unit to factory setting and then uploading the configuration files will typically fix the issue. I have had to toss less then five units over the past five years.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
It allows network connectivity for our metering department for data collections. It is just one component that sits behind a firewall. As long as the firewall is configured properly there is no trouble accessing the Moxa. It's nice that is has an internal web server so that you can access it remotely and fix issues if necessary.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great product, does the job with little setup. Like I mentioned before, It can take on extreme weather like sub-zero and above 110 F. It is a very rugged device, It can take a beating and keep going to a long period of time.
