What do you like best about the product?
This software was very user friendly and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was not much I did not like. The software was very easy to setup and resolved all back issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed to backup several systems in office. I was able to perform this task.

Old style backup software
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use. It has the kind of user interface you would expect from an older piece of software
What do you dislike about the product?
It's too easy to make a mistake. Also, you need to have plug-ins to backup SQL and Exchange.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backing up critical data and complete systems. I aim to have a usable backup if the machine is destroyed (e.g. in a fire).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I prefer storagecraft.
easy to use and very friendly interface
What do you like best about the product?
Very friendly to use for anyone with no experience in Backup exec . Upgrades are very straighforward . Managemnt console very easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
There isnt anything I dispike about Backup exec it does what it says on the tin which is a lot more than some other software

We are backing up to Amazon all of our shared drives as well as all of our vital servers
Excellent software
What do you like best about the product?
The interface has improved dramatically over the years. There were some hiccups back in the 2012 version but an upgrade to 2014 was offered for free.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing model can be difficult to understand. Sometimes it feels like you need a dedicated backup engineer on staff in order to understand your specific requirements. It's easy to spend too much or too little money leaving you with extra licenses or realizing you don't have enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to provide bare metal disaster recovery for many virtual environments.

Great Backup and Recovery Software
What do you like best about the product?
Easy user interface, works great, great vendor support. Great in the Enterprise
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost - one of the most expensive backup and recovery software solutions. Maybe not best for home use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Recovery for VM's, sql, exchange, and windows files.

If you need an industry standard backup solution in the enterprise give Backup Exec serious consideration.
User Friendly
What do you like best about the product?
It gives all the task related information in a very detailed and easy to use style
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes reasonable amount of time to start and to show all the information

we are using it to do the file back and the database backup

Backup Exec has always done a good job for our business. We've been using it for over 20 years now.
What do you dislike about the product?
In it's last few iterations, it has gone from being an easy to use, easy to manage application to a complicated, hard to use, have to call IT for help solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simply put, we use it to backup our data.

I'm not sure if I have discovered something better. Hopefully they will turn things around before I am forced to switch
Solid backup solution
What do you like best about the product?
Backup Exec is a very solid, reliable, backup solution. It is extremely easy to install, configure, and maintain. Performing backups are pretty straight-forward and restores are just as easy. I know I don't have to worry about my files being backed up which gives me a tremendous peace of mind.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is a big sluggish sometimes. The lag between changing screens makes it a bit challenging but it's nothing terribly difficult to get used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have the need to backup several small networks. Backup Exec works very well in these situations and the price point is reasonable.
Decent but could be better
What do you like best about the product?
Very Robust media cataloging. Easy to see which job ran on which media.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lots of quirks. Error messages are often misleading and random.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Disaster recovery.

Been around for several years, easy to use as it hasnt changed much in a very long time

Antiquated solution, doesn't offer true BDR capabilities
