Easy to visualise code changes

  • August 21, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
Phabricator is really easy to navigate around to find code and compare with historical changes that have been made. The website layout is also simple and effective to use.
What do you dislike?
Phabricator is really hard to customize to suit the business as its a very inflexible. Furthermore making changes to commits is not available via the front end gui.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
The benefits of phabricator for us is that we can keep track of all the changes the have been made to different branches. Using those changes to review the code of other developers and raise any concerns. Further more phabricator paired with jira further helps us take in account changes made to specific tickets.

Robust Development Platform

  • May 19, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
Fully integrated set of tools for development: task tracker, pre- and post-commit code review, repository management, CI integration, chat, scheduling tools, wiki, project management tools, paste, graphics review tools, and many other helpful features. While all the features may look overwhelming at first, the Dashboard tool and extensive setting controls allow you to select, integrate, and display only those features you need.
What do you dislike?
The file management and time tracking tools could be improved. Feature requests are prioritized only for paying clients; self-hosted clients don't have the same influence over the project. (This makes economic and project-management sense for Phacility, but it can be occasionally frustrating for self-hosted users.)
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Phabricator accounts for 98% of our development workflow, and allows us to collaborate with one another and with open source contributors very efficiently.

If you want to break your GIT workflow, choose Phabricator

  • May 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
It looks shiny ... but thats it. Hardly anything good to say about it
What do you dislike?
It just breaks any sane GIT workflow. ARC insist on manipulating your commit messages, squashes commits, is unable to submit a series of commits ...
Any sane review tool should be able to handle a patch series. Phabricator is just not up to the job.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
It claims to be a good review tool - it is not, when you are using GIT.

it have alot of application and it's contain almost all needed for a company to work without too many context switching, it has bug tracking, peer code review is the best, and it's Continuous Integration could be integrated with almost anything
What do you dislike?
it doesn't have the official support for scrum or sprint, since almost everyone today using this methodology i think phabricator should also provide support for this kind of methodology.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
It solve almost everything you need especialy for developers, it help you with an automated task management while helping you with the automated deployment, it's like shoting 5 bird with a shot.

  • April 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
The ease with which every document can be branched and stored.
What do you dislike?
Nothing. I'm all phab for a product like Phabricator.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Documentation - one of the biggest challenges within a growing company. Phabricator takes care of all of it. Every team, every process, every structure, every bug - solved and unsolved, every minutes of the meeting - it's all structured and stored on Phabricator with the right kind of privacy wherever needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As a phabulous phan of Phabricator, I can vouch for this product without a blink. Phabricator is your perfect tool to store, manage, structure and use it for further use whenever needed. The ease of the product lies in its thought through workflows which are complicated and the simplicity of the user's overall experience.

Phabricator, it's web scale.

  • August 09, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
The best thing about phabricator is that the developers don't take themselves too seriously. For evidence of this, just have a look at https://twitter.com/phabricator
What do you dislike?
I am a little bit sad that they have implemented serious business mode. That is to say they have mostly eliminated the quirky humor which had pervaded the Phabricator website and user documentation in years past,
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Phabricator is the primary tool that is used for collaboration within the technology department at the Wikimedia Foundation and the broader MediaWiki developer community. As the largest public Phabricator installation, phabricator.wikimedia.org enables project management, bug tracking, source control for thousands of developers, designers, project managers and volunteers.

It's the best tool for code reviews for a tech team out there!

  • August 03, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
I'm the biggest fan of the easy installation on the self-hosted version. There is simply no hassle. The second best is the code review part and the task management.
What do you dislike?
I don't like that the version upgrades are quite hard. Even when you follow the weekly update schedule.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
It makes you avoid pushing git branches to your origin (server) so there is less clutter on your production-ready code/repository. Also the code reviews forces your team to improve on code quality and communication.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really good on code reviews (also a clean UI, compared to e.g. Github), easy for project management and a good and free/open-source all-in-one solution.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
Phabricator is an awesome tool that we use to track and test our code, I like the clean interface and the way it connects to our other systems.
What do you dislike?
The is not a lot that i dislike about this product, it could use a few more feature which i am sure they are working on.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We use Phabricator to track and test all of our software code.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are software company i would definitely recommend using phabricator, it is great at scaling up and continuous integration.

For SW engineers, it's great for peer review and project management

  • November 12, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
You can create a wiki to create pages to create help manuals and documentation for team mates.
You can have code reviews linked into projects.
You can see file and text comparisons between git commits.
Creating bug fixes or feature requests are simple and can be prioritized and assigned.
New comments or changes will send email alerts so all team members can see the progress.
Comments can be formatted to look neat and clean, including bullet points and tables
What do you dislike?
The search capability could be improved, and there isn't a way to prioritize by milestone dates so it is difficult to know which high priority project needs to be completed first.
It is difficult to modify the home page to exactly how you want it to be displayed.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Mostly used for bug fixes, feature requests, or to bounce around ideas. This has allowed us to reduce meetings, and we can all show up to meetings prepared because everyone is informed already of the changes. It has become much easier to code review and compare different iterations of changes overtime.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The UI is simply and clean. You can see all of your tasks quickly from the home page, while allowing you to see more details or by creating filters to help you divide and conquer.

Efficient code management made easy!

  • July 16, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
One of the awesome softwares out there in the market for code management. In a way cheaper alternative to the popular Microsoft TFS. Phabricator is loaded with lots of features like version controlling, in built reviewing, sprint management.
The software is very useful for people who are working in Agile methodology. It helps maintaining the sprints/increments in the agile methodology development. One can tag people in the reviews which again is a beautiful feature for people to get notified.

One of the biggest plus points of Phabricator compared to other softwares of its level is, it's a open source!
What do you dislike?
Nothing as such to dislike in Phabricator. When switching from any other software, the interface might look little clumsy. But again that is because of the loads of awesome features bundled into this software.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We are using it for code management for one of the projects in our organization. The sprint and tasks management is very efficiently done. The Bug tracking is also very nicely done using Phabricator.
We use GIT, TFS and other collaboration softwares as well. But compared to other softwares I felt this one to be one of the finest softwares considering its pricing!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Phabricator is highly recommended for anyone looking for a complete bundle of a collaborative software. One can lookout for code versioning, review management, bug tracking, many more features fit into this free (self hosted) software.
