Unravel- optimizing too
What do you like best about the product?
Unravel data gives us an easy to understand insight and actionable recommendations about the full stack of data sources. It enables team to Optimize and automatically troubleshoot and control the costs of data pipelines and applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
The most negative aspect of this platform is that , the data stack is in bulk and it's complex so due it's complexity it becomes harder to untangle the wires to figure it out what went wrong how can we fix it .

It gives the complete in-depth insight of the full stack data , where the monitoring range , troubleshooting ,optimisation,data quality and cloud migration etc increases.

What I like about this tool is that it groups data in a way that is easy to understand thanks to its coherent and functional visualization system for new professionals who work with data these days and understand how critical it is to have efficient systems. Using unravel data, we can now manage and optimize big data workloads on modern data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka. It is used by our data team to capture telemetric information about pipelines, data layout, lineage, parallelism, and cost. It helps visualize multidimensional relationships and dependencies within the entire data stack. We can measure our out-of-pocket costs and SLAs.

Unravel data collects and stores a lot of data about the organization's big data workloads, which may raise concerns about data privacy and security. So there is always a need of a proper risk governance system before managing workloads using unravel data

Performance management and AwS monitoring
Good tool provides comprehensive metrics of all of the Hadoop jobs
What do you like best about the product?
In addition of the individual jobs, such as Spark, Impala, Hive, I like the reports that provide high level view of the jobs in a given cluster, such as small file report, top X job reports, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are still issues in terms of missing certain type of jobs somet times, such Impala metrtics, still have Small Files report not right. We are in the process of upgrading to the Unvavle v4.7.x and and the processes seems to be slow
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provide the true state of the Hadoop jobs and give us time to look at the issues. Another benefit is to provide the chance to review the application testing jobs in QA before production implementations.

A single plane of glass that provides the information you need when you need it and it is extremely responsive to boot!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike really. Some nit-picky things with the newer version of software, for example, jobs run in the last 24 hours option has been left out...

It makes monitoring our cluster a lot easier and faster. It helps our data engineers tune their queries & jobs. Lastly, it is a helpful tool for cloud migration.
Best tool for spark Performance monitor
What do you like best about the product?
Unravel helps to analyze the spark jobs ran over a period of time. It has features to monitor the spark bottlenecks, bad joins, spillings , shuffling. It recommendition helps to save cost by fixing the issues, downgrading the driver or workers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tool has limited information on the job level, search is not so good to find the jobs, spark analysis tab sometime doesnt gives any tips through your spark job is taking lot of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unravel helped us to save the databricks cluster cost, fix the bad jobs in the code, almost 40% of the cost is reduced only by changing the cluster type and downgrading the clusters.
Good for Cloud
What do you like best about the product?
Costs are lower compared to others. Best is that we migrate to Cloud without any hesitations. Accurate decisions can be taken at right times. Exact spending is also done.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes validations gets failed and we needs to reupload it. Investment costs seems to be higher. Sometimes response time gets higher (may be due to low bandwitdh)

Helped it in automation. The hybrid cloud environments have come up which helps colleages to inter transfer data. Also due high speed transfers to Response Time is saved!
