A very useful (open source) platform
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that we can deploy it very easily on our servers. Manage everything without having to send our code to a random location and have all the GIT features we want.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much to dislike. Maybe the fact that we have to run a SAAS-based account to get all the features on the gitlab.com website. We would pay to have them working locally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All our documentation and source code is hosted on Gitlab and it's working flawlessly. Since it's Ruby On Rails, we can use and deploy instances easily. We appreciate the user interface and all the features.

Best application to work remotely and also for work dividation for team. Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and also anyone can contribute their work. Code can share easily. A branching facility is the most likely feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far there is nothing to dislike for GitLab except UI part.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Code sharing to different members and and time management.

a great platform for both business and for your own projects. own wiki is convenient. ease of use cross-platform. great way to share your projects

not very user-friendly site menu. initial setup is difficult.

version control system, storage and backup of projects. access to projects of friends

Ability to plan the issues, create code reviews, do the continuous integration and testing and handle the security out of the box.

It would be great to have a better interdependency between different version control systems.

Git lab is primarily used for the version control system. To track the issues, manage the code, test and deploy the solution. With GitLab we have been able to scale the solution to multiple projects and people
I was bale to maintain version of my android and ios projects with ease on gitlab and it was free

First and foremost it is free, one can fetch earlier code versions at any time.
Integration in project is easy with access token, on which we can add expiry and other constraints like read write etc.

Recently got a problem where I was unable to commit or push my android projects over gitlab. There was no proper help for that particular error from gitlab resources.

It is free solution and xan help a lot in startup environment. So I would suggest to go for it.

It has lots of nice features that aren't available on GitHub.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is confusing and quite unintuitive compared to GitHub.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Code submission & efficiency across organization has improved. Automated processes can be easily run to complete tasks on commit.

Easy to use ci cd tools, we can reduce the efforts for ci cd pipelines

Integration with Visual Studio/Code is not there.

Web IDE enables users to edit their full repository in their browser instead of downloading it first.

The ease of setting up the platform in a VPS

Even if it is self-hosted you cannot assign more than 1 person to a specific task. There are tasks that need collaboration

Having an unlimited number of users and depending only on the host storage resulted to be cheaper

What do you like best about the product?
I am working as a spring developer . And I need to push my code daily to gitlab by creating separate branches. I found its user interface very easy to use as well as understandable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, while solving merge conflicts, it creates some issues but I think that's not a big thing. However, I will be happy if this thing will be resolved soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am pushing my code on a regular basis to GitLab, and my other peers are accessing that code very easily. It made collaboration of code much easier while developing applications.
