What do you like best about the product?
Free, but most Linux distros are it's well built, has lot's of options, and works
What do you dislike about the product?
like most Linux distros, it has its limits; it all depends on how you are using it and the configuration you are using
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's another free OS to use to get users working instead of using windows. had a great base and worked well

    Program Development

It's good, I enjoy it very well!

What do you like best about the product?
The community and documentation! It's always really nice when you come across an issue and there is a fix out there somewhere without having to go on a long bug hunt!
It's not a matter of picking the most used option out there. More or less weighing the benefeits and downsides of the operating system is not enough. If it doesn't have a large enough userbase there is no community. But it doesn';t mean that because a distro/OS has a big community means that its good. For example look at Ubuntu, it has many users but is not good in my personal opinion. Therefore I think openSUSE tumbleweed is a great option in the middle.
Also the fact that it is supported on many hardware platforms makes it usable across the board.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much I really dislike. It's more that I don't appreciate how it looks. Which is a stylistic preference. not so much openSUSE related.
The install image is also very big, opposed to something like Gentoo linux.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We at our company have been looking for a stable and usable OS for a while. Something we can rely on without much thought. As we're a small team, it's not very handy to have to worry about daily updates or security patches. More or less the fact that it runs and it runs. no questions asked. I think thats a good thing that we're reaping the benefits of.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Smaller install packages!

    Banking

Able to transfer files in secure manner.

There is nothing to dislike as its user friendly application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Peer to peer connectivity establishment and secure file transfer

    Computer Software

Stable and reliable linux distro

  • July 19, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
Like that you get to choose between Tumbleweed for a more bleeding edge desktop and Leap for extra stability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still think Debian/Ubuntu has a better package management approach.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used OpenSUSE Leap as part of an ecommerce platform and it was highly stable, predictable results is always good.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go with Leap if you want extra stability

opensuse is an easy-to-navigate Linux system

  • July 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the accessibility and ease of navigating through this line X system I prefer the Tumbleweed version to the other version however I do feel like it's a pretty user-friendly software program
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say the only part of the open Sous that didn't completely Blow Me Away was the installation process the installer I felt like it was rather mundane and a slow process slower than I had anticipated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is good for file storing and social networking and I do feel that it is giving me more space to navigate through my business contacts with More ease and less complexity and some of the other Linux programs
